20世纪90年代以来,书法艺术在中国的发展进入快速变异的时代,专业创作和书法艺术普及都有想不到的变化,可也有担心和不解的困惑。一方面市民文化中书法练习成了最大众化的首选科目,另一方面是受教育时间越长和掌握科学知识较多的青年知识精英们的汉字书写水平越来越差。尽管有若干客观理由(例如:信息和知识密度的增大、计算机和网络的出现等),可两种群体对书法表现出来的巨大反差,使我们对新世纪人才的培养方式提出疑问,新世纪教育以分数量化人才时,中国的优秀传统文化在学生的基本素质和修养里到底占有多少的比例,才算合格人才?这个话题有多种答案,这里暂且不表。近日在人的智能开发方面有一种新的学说——多元智能,尤其引起我的注意。该学说认为,大脑有八种智能可以开发。而传统教育单纯强调语言和数学逻辑智能的开发和学习,浪费和否定其他智能的开发,使学生身上许多重要的潜能失去最佳开发的时间和机会,造成相当数量的人虽然考试成绩很好,走上社会后却不能适直和独立解决问题。我认为青年知识精英们的书法学习,不仅有承传中国文人精华的责任,也是开发自身多元智能、求职就业和实现人生目标的必修课程。......
