Zhongguo suyu dacidian

《中国俗语大辞典(新1版)(辞海版)》内容简介：俗语，或者俗话，是一种广泛的名称，典型的俗语是所谓谚语，这是各国语言里都有的一种东西，英语里的名称是proverb。我的书架上有本讲各国谚语的英文书，作者特伦奇（Richard Chenevix Trench）是十九世纪英国的一位教士，做过都伯林大主教。他爱好研究语言，写过好几种讲英语的书。他在1857年做了两件事。一件事是在英国语言学会的年会上提议按历史的原则编一本英语词典，这个提议获得通过，后来逐步实现，就是从1884年出版第一分册到1928年出齐全书的鼎鼎大名的《牛津英语词典》。另一件事就是把他几次讲谚语的演讲稿编成一本书出版，书名是《谚语及其教训》。我不准备在这里详细介绍《中国俗语大辞典(新1版)(辞海版)》的内容，只想从他的书里转引有关谚语的特点的话。
