Altogether there are three volumes, each of which is divided into two volumes. The first two are used in the first semester, the third used in the second semester. The course is divided into three stages: the phonetic stage for developing the pronunciation skills and learning common characters, the grammar stage for developing simple communication skills through conversations, and the lexical stage for expanding vocabulary through essays reading, and developing the ability to express themselves. Grammar, words and sentences are put into the real life situations. The textbook consists of six parts: text, new word, explanatory
notes , grammar , pronunciation and exercises, containing 100 texts and
3,300 new words in all. Since the publication in 1999, Chinese Course has been receiving warm welcome from the learners and teachers. To meet the increasing needs for the book, it was revised and published again with the joint efforts of
the author and the Beijing Language and Culture Universtiy Press. Based on the original frame, the revised edition reduced the number of lessons from 100 to 76, and the degree of difficulty is lowered to enable it to be finished within one year. Outdate texts are deleted, and the contents are revised to make the book timely. The explanations of language points are also modified, and the order is rearranged to make it more convenient for teaching.

词类活用的定义:

词语在句子中临时改变词性或语法功能。词类活用与兼类不同,兼类是经常性的,而活用是临时性的。

词类活用

“公赐之食,食舍肉。”——前“食”为名词,后“食”为动词。“食”兼有名词和动词两种词性,因此属于词兼类。

“止子路宿,杀鸡为黍而食之。”——“食”为动词的使动用法,属于词的活用.活用时该词的语法功能或词汇意义有所改变.

将军身披坚执锐。《史记·陈涉起义》—“坚”“锐”形容词活用为名词。

词类活用的类型:

词类活用主要是实词的活用,即动词、名词、形容词的活用。具体而言包括动词的使动用法,形容词用做一般动词,使动和意动用法;名词用做一般动词,使动和意动用法以及做状语。

使动和意动的区别在于使动用法是宾语客观上发生了变化,意动用法是宾语客观上没有发生变化而主语主观上认为它发生了变化或者对待宾语的方式有所改变。

王力先生(1900-1986)字了一,广西博白人。著名语言学家,中国现代语言学的奠基人之一。1924年赴上海求学,1926年考入清华国学研究院,师从梁启超、赵元任等,1927年赴法国留学,1932年获巴黎大学文学博士学位后返国,先后在清华大学、西南联合大学、岭南大学、中山大学、北京大学等校任教授,并先后兼任中国科学院哲学社会科学部委员,中国文学改革委员会委员、副主任,中国语言学会名誉会长,全国政协第四、五、六届委员,第五、六届常务委员等职。王力先生从事中国语言学研究逾半个多世纪,他在汉语语法学、音韵学、词汇学、汉语史、语言学史等方面出版专著四十余种,发表论文200余篇。他研究领域之广,取得成就之大,中外影响之深远,在中国语言学家中是极其突出的。王力先生的语言学研究始终是与教学联系在一起的,他在半个多世纪的教学生涯中,培养了一批又一批语言学专门人材,为中国语言学事业的发展作出了重要贡献。王力先生在法国留学期间,翻译出版二十余种法国小说、剧本;抗战期间,写了大量的散文,被誉为战时学者散文三大家之一。
