外国留学生学习汉语进入高级阶段之后,还要不要进一步学习口语?这是一个不十分明确的问题。这主要是因为,在学习汉语的整个过程中,听、说、读、写四项技能在不同的学习阶段有所侧重。高级阶段侧重在阅读和写作上,成段表达主要是写的训练,似乎口语表达的训练已经完成了。

近来,一些入系学习专业的本科生和研究生感慨地说,他们的口语表达能力不但没有什么提高,反而有所减退。在现实生活和社会交往中,他们缺乏系统、完整、自然、得体地表达自己的思想、发表自己的见解的能力。究其原因,主要是专业学习要读的书太多,要写的作业太多,没有时间练习说。这也许是事实。然而,学生们的口语表达能力方面存在的问题,不能完全归根于此。我们认为,根本原因还在于,高级阶段口语表达能力的训练还没有真正完成。

过去的高级口语教材,从某种意义上说,与汉语阅读教材相差无几。教材的内容大多选自小说、剧本、相声等文学作品。语言虽然比较通俗,但大都带有浓厚的文学色彩,这种语言不能算是标准的“白话”口语。外国留学生很难操练和掌握。

两年来,刘元满、任雪梅、金舒年三位青年教师在教学实践中,总结了高级口语教材的一些问题,从高级阶段学生的学习需要出发,编写了这本《高级汉语口语》。他们以《汉语水平等级标准和等级大纲》对高级阶段学生的学习要求为编写依据,选取能够反映中国社会和中国人日常生活的场景编写成课文。内容来自真实生活,生动有趣;语言自然流畅,极易上口,便于学生学习到真正地道的口头语言;练习量大,形式多样,设计突出实用性,有利于学生进行成段表达;有关文化背景知识都做了阐释,每课还安排了相关的“补充材料”。

总之,我认为,这本《高级汉语口语》是一部较好的实用口语教材。
